About The Release

Jagged Edge is one of the most successful and influential R&B groups of the past two decades. Founded by Brandon and Brian Casey, Kyle Norman, and Richard Wingo, the Atlanta-based quartet has sold millions of records, earned numerous awards, and shaped the sound of R&B. The group’s roots trace back to their teenage years at the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Atlanta, where Kyle, Brandon, and Brian sang in the choir. With the help of a talent scout, they caught the eye of New Edition’s Michael Bivins and were signed to Biv 10 Records in 1992. However, due to a crowded roster, their debut album was never released. Undeterred, the group recorded a new demo with financial support from their father, which gained attention from music executives including Jermaine Dupri. In 1995, Jagged Edge was signed as the first male R&B group to Dupri's So So Def label. Their debut album, A Jagged Era (1997) featured “Gotta Be” which became a breakout hit, earning the album Gold-selling status. In 1999, their sophomore album J.E. Heartbreak solidified their place in R&B. The album sold over 2 million copies and featured hits like “Let’s Get Married” and “Promise.” “Let’s Get Married, ” inspired by fans using their song at weddings, became a classic love anthem, and its remix with Rev. Run showcased the group’s ability to blend R&B and hip-hop. Jagged Edge’s success continued with Jagged Little Thrill (2001), featuring the chart-topping “Where The Party At, ” which earned a Grammy nomination and helped the album achieve multi-platinum status. Their fourth album, Hard (2003), marked a departure from Dupri’s influence but still delivered hits like “Walked Outta Heaven.” The group took a two-year hiatus after Hard, returning in 2006 with Jagged Edge and the hit “Good Luck Charm.” In 2007, they reunited with Dupri for Baby Makin’ Project, which debuted in the Top 10. Their 2011 album The Remedy debuted at No. 7 on the R&B charts, and their 2017 album Layover received critical acclaim. Their 2020 album A Jagged Love Story featured 31 tracks written by Brandon and Brian Casey. In 2024, Brandon’s recovery from a car accident became the inspiration for their upcoming album All Original Parts (2025), with the song “This Morning” reflecting his testimony of faith and resilience.
