Jenice Sabbion Portlock affectionately known as “SABi,” began her professional career in entertainment while still in College. One of her demo records piqued the interest of producers, “The Costars” who asked her to join a girl duo“The Bangz”. The two Los Angeles natives, SABi (Inglewood) and Ella Ann(Watts) perfectly blended their youth, beauty, and slick street style with the popular sounds of the LA dance craze, “The Jerk Movement.” The music video to their first single “Boyz with Tattoos” went viral on YouTube with over a million views in less than a week. With the Viral success of the song and video, record labels came knocking, the group signed a deal with Warner Bros/Asylum Records. Shortly after signing their record deal, SABi’s group member, Ella Ann was injured in a tragic incident. SABi was forced to take over both group member roles and her artistry quickly evolved. She was discovered by, Super producer Dr. Luke and in this period she landed her first Multi Platinum selling Billboard Top 10 Record “You Make Me Feel” with the group Cobra starship, she performed on the song “Drop Dead Beautiful” with the Iconic Britney Spears and later accompanied her on tour. After performing at the MTV VMA’s, the Tonight Show, Americas Got Talent, and a successful tour with Britney Spears, other artist came knocking for SABi. Diplo, Wale and Tyga reached out for collaborations and SABi released her solo mixtape project “0 to 60: Love Sounds”.Upon SABi’s success she was selected to play the role of feisty best friend, “Nataly Gomez” in the NBCU/Telemundo Film, “ISA,” which premiered on the Syfy Channel, Chiller, mun2 and later Telemundo. As an additional creative outlet, SABi hosts her own show on Apple Music’s global radio station, called “Easy Hits” where she plays laid back pop songs from all the decades . She is most excited to share her latest project, the 7 song EP “CHAKRA Blu” a pop expression of self reflection and sass, her first ever independent EP release …..SABi is just getting started.
